A place I had never noticed is the Antiques and Design Mall on 87th and Biscayne. We had passed driving around that area many times but never actually drove in to see the shops, we received an invite for art Basel week to one of the mall galleries and were surprised at how many small shops with tasteful items you could find.
The gallery we were invited to Gauchet Fine Art, was having an exhibit that we enjoyed, a very nice gallery with a DJ in the back playing some great tunes which made the enviorment cool
they greeted us with champaign and appetizers, -its always good to see art with a small buzz and a full stomach, it makes the experience more pleasant, I guess you can connect more with artists craziness in a good sense.
We saw some very interesting art pieces, This one was one of our favs, the artist did a great job with the combination of crystal with gold, a piece I would definitely have in my collection
We also loved this Mirror with the same concept as the previous
This painting captured our atention, we are personally music lovers and the combination of color was well put together
another interesting piece was this gold face
Chosen as the galleries piece for their invitation which was beautiful but in our taste the first one won
We are also horse lovers and this piece had a cool combination of a kind of mythological but surreal horselike figure we found to be interesting

After visiting the Gauchet Gallery we took a stroll around some of the other galleries and stores and saw some very nice pieces
This beautiful arabic type lamp decoration captured our attention, very nice detail
We came across the Romeo and Juliette from Berrocal, a beautiful puzzle sculpture that I’ve always liked, one of these was owned by my parents so it braught back good memories
A beautiful lamp for the gold and crystal lovers
I would call this a sun on your wall, very nice piece exhibited at one of the shops window exhibits
